Baseball Game Preview: Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles vs. Castleberry Lions

For the second straight game, Diamond Hill-Jarvis will face off against Castleberry. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Lions at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Friday. They lost 12-5 to Castleberry. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost five in a row.

For Castleberry's part, Samuel Williams and Eric Medina did most of the damage at the plate: Williams got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and one RBI, while Medina went 4-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave Medina a new career-high. Adrian Pina was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Castleberry and bumps their season record up to 19-8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Diamond Hill-Jarvis, they now have a losing record of 12-13-1.
