Baseball Game Preview: Crean Lutheran Saints vs. Pacifica Mariners

The Crean Lutheran Saints will face off against the Pacifica Mariners at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Crean Lutheran 3.9, Pacifica 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Crean Lutheran's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when La Habra hitters got past them. The Saints came up short against the Highlanders on Friday, falling 13-0.

Meanwhile, Pacifica never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against Yorba Linda as they made off with a 7-0 victory. That seven run margin sets a new team best for the Mariners this season.

The win made it two in a row for Pacifica and bumps their season record up to 8-17. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Crean Lutheran, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-9.

Crean Lutheran came out on top in a nail-biter against Pacifica when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Saints repeat their success, or do the Mariners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
