Football Preview: Wekiva Mustangs vs. Edgewater Eagles        
        
		
             The Wekiva Mustangs will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on the Edgewater Eagles  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Given that  the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this  matchup.
 Wekiva is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after opening their season on the road. They received a  blow  on Friday as they fell  33-14 to West Orange.
 Wekiva wouldn't let West Orange keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Wekiva can thank  Jaylen Barnes and  Jabari Smith for forcing both of them. Barnes' also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D,  picking up  a  sack, forcing a fumble, and making six total tackles.
 Meanwhile, Edgewater couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took  a  28-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of The First Academy. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the  game with a sizable advantage  in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings  (they are ranked 17th, while the Royals are ranked 65th).
 Wekiva came up short against Edgewater in their previous matchup  back in September of 2023, falling  29-22. Thankfully for Wekiva,  Kaden Shields-Dutton (who rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
