Camp Verde barely beat Scottsdale Preparatory Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cowboys put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cowboys.

Camp Verde never let Scottsdale Preparatory Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-17, 25-22.

Among those leading the charge was IreLinn Chavez-Flanagan, who had 19 assists and five digs.

Camp Verde was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sophia Lee had seven digs and two aces. Lee is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Brielle Amarel also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Camp Verde's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Camp Verde has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Winslow on the 29th. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Phoenix Christian on the 29th.
