Baseball Recap: Charles City Comes Up Short

Charles City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Waukon Indians. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Comets have suffered against the Indians since June 2, 2023.

Charles City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Waukon, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Indians beat Charles City by a score of 10-0 later that day.
