Basketball Game Preview: Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies vs. Dell Rapids Quarriers

Elk Point-Jefferson is 1-9 against Dell Rapids since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies will head out on the road to take on the Dell Rapids Quarriers at 5:15 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Elk Point-Jefferson took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Canistota as Elk Point-Jefferson made off with a 63-39 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Huskies as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dell Rapids). They blew past Canton 67-39 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The victory was the third in a row for Dell Rapids, bringing their record for this year to 4-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Elk Point-Jefferson, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-5.

Elk Point-Jefferson opened the new year with a less-than-successful 48-40 loss to Dell Rapids. Can Elk Point-Jefferson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
