Basketball Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss

Skyline lost against Mountain View back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Skyline Coyotes took a blow against the Mountain View Toros, falling 71-35. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Toros are ranked 88th).

When it comes to explaining why Skyline lost, don't look at Tage Flodstrom. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Flodstrom has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Petty, who posted six points.

Skyline's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Mountain View, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Skyline has already played their next match, a 56-46 victory against Browne on the 14th. As for Mountain View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-29 win against Westwood on the 17th.
