Basketball Game Preview: Saucon Valley Panthers vs. Palisades Pirates

The Saucon Valley Panthers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Palisades Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saucon Valley will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Saucon Valley faced off against Lincoln Leadership Academy on Monday. Saucon Valley secured a 42-36 W over Lincoln Leadership Academy.

Meanwhile, Palisades was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 55-50 to Kutztown. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Palisades saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lincoln Cook went 7 for 16 en route to 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Cook. Another player making a difference was Blake Oglialoro, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Saucon Valley's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Palisades, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.

Everything went Saucon Valley's way against Palisades in their previous meeting back in January, as Saucon Valley made off with a 49-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Saucon Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
