Volleyball Game Preview: Montini Catholic Broncos vs. Providence Catholic Celtics

The Montini Catholic Broncos will head out on the road to square off against the Providence Catholic Celtics at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Montini Catholic came up short against DePaul College Prep and fell 2-0. The Broncos have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: DePaul College Prep scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Providence Catholic had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Mustangs.

Providence Catholic easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-20.

Providence Catholic's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-18. As for Montini Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.

Montini Catholic couldn't quite get it done against Providence Catholic in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Broncos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
