Softball Preview: Galt Warriors vs. El Dorado Cougars
Galt is 9-1 against El Dorado since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Galt will host El Dorado at 3:30 p.m. El Dorado took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Galt, who comes in off a win.
Galt is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Edison 15-4 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.
Zoey Sanchez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

In other batting news, Lexi Maldonado was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rachael Parkinson, who scored two runs and stole two bases.
Meanwhile, El Dorado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Rosemont.
Taylor Gagne spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and -1 unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
El Dorado's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Galt, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.
