Basketball Recap: DeRidder Takes a Loss

DeRidder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Merryville Panthers, falling 97-53. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while the Panthers are ranked 76th).

DeRidder's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Merryville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-5.

DeRidder has already played their next contest (against Northwest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Merryville has also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against Tioga.
