Basketball Recap: Edyn Knight Key Part of a Team Effort in Trojans Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Edwards County, Webber was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Murphysboro Red Devils with points to spare, taking the game 54-40. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-26), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Webber to victory, but perhaps none more so than Edyn Knight, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. Knight's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe King, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds.

Webber smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Webber's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Murphysboro, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Webber wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-24 loss against Newton on the 27th. As for Murphysboro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-44 defeat against Lawrenceville on the 28th.
