Preview: Southside Seahawks vs. Pamlico County Hurricanes
Having just played yesterday, the Southside Seahawks will get right back to it and host the Pamlico County Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Southside gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 63-38 margin over Lejeune. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Southside has posted since December 5, 2023.
Pamlico County was handed a three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Jones last Thursday. Pamlico County simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jones 52-19 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Pamlico County has posted against Jones since January 15, 2021.
Pamlico County found their leader in underclassman Nya Clark, who scored 24 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clark has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyliyah Barber, who scored eight points along with eight steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Southside and bumps their season record up to 12-5. As for Pamlico County, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10.
Southside strolled past Pamlico County when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 54-37. Will Southside repeat their success, or does Pamlico County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
