Soccer Game Preview: Cypress Creek vs. Dr. Phillips

The Cypress Creek Bears will square off against the Dr. Phillips Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dr. Phillips took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Cypress Creek, who comes in off a win.

Cypress Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Liberty onto the board and left with an 11-0 win on Tuesday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by four goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Dr. Phillips was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to Winter Park. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Wildcats are ranked 49th).

Cypress Creek pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Dr. Phillips, they now have a losing record at 4-5-1.

Cypress Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Dr. Phillips when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 2-0. Does Cypress Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dr. Phillips turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
