Burlington extended their home winning streak to nine games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Lexie Carmody. The Red Devils had just enough and edged out the Wakefield Memorial Warriors 3-2 on Thursday with plenty of help from Carmody, who had 31 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted 17 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Burlington had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 27-29, 20-25, 25-18, 25-21, 16-14.

When it comes to explaining why Wakefield Memorial lost, don't look at Brendia Diaz. Despite the final result, she had nine digs and six aces.

Burlington's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Wakefield Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Burlington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Marblehead on the 19th. As for Wakefield Memorial, they will square off against Weston at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
