Softball Recap: Rosewood Comes Up Short

Rosewood was the 6-3 winner over North Duplin when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rebels on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

McCandless St John spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Marley Parrish made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Rosewood's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for North Duplin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.

As of now, neither Rosewood nor the Rebels have any future games scheduled.
