Preview: Charleston vs. Calhoun City
Calhoun City will take on Charleston in each of the teams' third playoff contest on Friday. Both of these red-hot teams will try to put the other on ice to keep their winning streaks alive.
Calhoun City was able to grind out a solid win over South Delta last Friday, winning 21-12. Hayden Goodson and Jayden Griffin were among the main playmakers for the Wildcats as the former rushed for 77 yards and one TD on 13 carries and the latter rushed for 84 yards and one TD on 16 carries. Griffin has been a consistent playmaker for Calhoun City as this was the fifth good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, Charleston earned some more postseason success in their game last week. They put the hurt on East Union with a sharp 52-27 victory. Kristian Gammage had a stellar game for Charleston as he rushed for 149 yards and three TDs on 20 carries. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Gammage has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season. Gammage's sharp performance also set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
Charleston's defense was a presence as well, and it collected four interceptions. Mook Prince snatched up three of those interceptions.
