Baseball Preview: Canyon Lake vs. Bandera BULLDOGS
Canyon Lake is 9-1 against Bandera since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Canyon Lake will head out to challenge Bandera at 7:00 p.m. Canyon Lake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Canyon Lake took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Fredericksburg as they made off with a 14-5 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Canyon Lake considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Carter Williams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Canyon Lake got a big performance out of Michael Anderson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Gram Simpson was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Canyon Lake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fredericksburg only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Bandera was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 18-0 to Davenport. Considering the last time the BULLDOGS couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.
Bandera's loss dropped their record down to 9-12-1. As for Canyon Lake, they moved to 19-9-1 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.
