Softball Recap: Parish Hill Comes Up Short

Parish Hill had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-5 to make it five. They lost 13-6 to the Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy Phoenix. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 15-11 to the Phoenix when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Julie Millerd was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Sionna Houser was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

As for Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The result was nothing new for the Phoenix, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

On Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy's side, Sumalee Chanbunna was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Eimy Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parish Hill will host Metropolitan Learning Center at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy, they will be playing at home against Grasso Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Phoenix are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
