Preview: Branford Buccaneers vs. Countryside Christian Minutemen
Branford is 9-1 against Countryside Christian since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Branford Buccaneers will play host again and welcome the Countryside Christian Minutemen, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Branford knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Countryside Christian likes a good challenge.
Branford pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Union County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Branford has scored all season.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Countryside Christian, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 52-25 loss at the hands of Aucilla Christian.
Branford's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-1. As for Countryside Christian, they bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Branford against Countryside Christian in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 67-24 victory. With Branford ahead 46-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.
