Basketball Recap: Texas City Stingarees vs. Santa Fe Indians

Texas City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Fe Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-45 back in January.

Despite the loss, Texas City still got an impressive performance from Tristen Blackmon, who went 7-for-9 to rack up 22 points. What's more, Blackmon also posted a 78% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Trevor Gregory, who posted 14 points and six rebounds.

Texas City's loss dropped their record down to 5-22. As for Santa Fe, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-19.

Texas City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-39 defeat against Angleton on the 4th. As for Santa Fe, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-51 loss against Ball on the 4th.
