Baseball Recap: Kamiak Takes a Loss

Kamiak has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They lost 14-4 to the Lake Stevens Vikings. That makes it the first time this season the Knights have let down their home crowd.

Kamiak saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Bovey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Bovey has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another was Maddux Phimmasane, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Kamiak's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Lake Stevens, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Lake Stevens will head out on the road to face off against Edmonds-Woodway at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kamiak will be paying especially close attention to Lake Stevens' contest: after Lake Stevens faces off against Edmonds-Woodway, they'll take on Kamiak again at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
