Preview: Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers vs. Stratford Academy Eagles
Mount de Sales Academy has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Stratford Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Friday, Mount de Sales Academy had to suffer through a rough 47-14 loss at the hands of Tattnall Square Academy.
Mount de Sales Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Zavion Deshazier, who rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown, and Lawton Hall who picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Stratford Academy was beaten by John Milledge Academy 40-6 on Friday. Stratford Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-6.
Mount de Sales Academy's loss was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 13-0 John Milledge Academy and 12-1 St. Anne-Pacelli (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 69.2% over those games). Stratford Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Mount de Sales Academy was dealt a bruising 41-14 defeat at the hands of Stratford Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Mount de Sales Academy, Keondre Glover (who rushed for 99 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
