Basketball Recap: Pelham Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Hannah Bankston and Tee King

Pelham was the 45-26 winner over Helena when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pelham Panthers fell 50-39 to the Helena Huskies on Thursday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tee King and Hannah Bankston certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. King posted 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Bankston scored eight points and eight boards. That was a full 51.3% of Pelham's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Pelham smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Pelham's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Helena, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Pelham has already played their next game, a 41-26 victory against Spain Park on the 14th. As for Helena, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-20 defeat against Chelsea on the 14th.
