Softball Preview: Taft Greyhounds vs. Aransas Pass Panthers
Taft and Aransas Pass are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2020, but likely not for long. Taft will head out on the road to face off against Aransas Pass at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Taft is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Mathis on Friday. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 4-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost three in a row.
Josette Aparicio was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She also tossed six walks, marking her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
