Baseball Recap: Tonopah Valley Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Tonopah Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past the Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes 10-0 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Phoenix, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Connor Hart made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Tonopah Valley got a massive performance out of Joshua Amaral, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave Amaral a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caleb Procunier, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Tonopah Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .542. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arizona Lutheran Academy only posted an OBP of .176.

The victory got Tonopah Valley back to even at 11-11-1. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Tonopah Valley will challenge Odyssey Institute at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, they will face off against Heritage Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
