Warren won the last time they faced West Carroll and things went their way on Thursday too. The Warren Warriors put the hurt on the West Carroll Thunder with a sharp 82-57 win. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Thunder are ranked 680th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Warren's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Treyton Pafford led the charge by going 8 of 19 to rack up 21 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds. That's the most assists Pafford has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bryce VanRaalte, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Warren smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Warren's victory bumped their record up to 20-7. As for West Carroll, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season.

Coming up, Warren will face off against River Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Carroll, they will challenge Scales Mound at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Scales Mound knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully West Carroll likes a good challenge.
