Basketball Game Preview: Canton South Wildcats vs. Marlington Dukes

The Canton South Wildcats just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Marlington Dukes at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Canton South was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-50 to Orrville. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Marlington lost 74-48 to Alliance on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Dukes in their matchups with the Aviators: they've now lost three in a row.

Marlington's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Canton South, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Canton South won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, slipping by Marlington 57-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canton South since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
