Billingsley took a ten-run  defeat the last time they faced off against Verbena, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Billingsley Bears won by a  run and slipped past the Verbena Red Devils  13-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Bears have posted  against the Red Devils since April 22, 2023.
Billingsley let  Claire Seamon and  Jakayla Harris run wild. Seamon  scored two  runs and  stole  Three bases. while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances, while  Harris  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sadie Primm, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 They weren't the only ones working in the  hit department: Billingsley  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. They are  a perfect 4-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
With the  win, Billingsley broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Verbena, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record  this season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Billingsley will head out to  square off against Maplesville  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Verbena, they will venture away from home to  face off against Jemison  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
