Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Greencastle's Winning Streak

Greencastle and Barr-Reeve squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Greencastle had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Vikings. The Tiger Cubs' defeat signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.

Sophia Gooch paced Greencastle's offense, picking up nine kills. Gooch got some help from Allie Landry and her 20 assists. Finally, Makenzie Creviston kept Greencastle's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Barr-Reeve to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lora Graber, who had 14 digs and one assist. Hallie Knepp was another key player, getting 34 assists and ten digs.

Greencastle's loss dropped their record down to 30-5. As for Barr-Reeve, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-5 record this season.

Greencastle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Barr-Reeve, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Triton Central on the 1st.
