Football Recap: Central Valley Falcons vs. University Prep Panthers

Central Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 51-14 defeat at the hands of the University Prep Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 921st, while the Panthers are ranked 369th).

Central Valley wouldn't let University Prep keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Alex Johnston was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance. Central Valley got some further help from Drason Recio: he made 12 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Tyson Wurzer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for University Prep, rushing for 234 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Wurzer's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 154 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Central Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for University Prep, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when Falcons takes on West Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for University Prep, they will square off against Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. University Prep is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
