Soccer Game Preview: Vance Charter vs. Voyager Academy

Vance Charter is 2-8 against Voyager Academy since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Knights will be playing at home against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Vance Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

If Voyager Academy heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Vance Charter took over last week. The Knights came out on top against Vance County by a score of 3-1 on Friday. Katherine Suther had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Vance Charter.

Meanwhile, Voyager Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on April 10th. They never let the Griffins get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Considering Voyager Academy have won nine matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Voyager Academy pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those four contests. As for Vance Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
