Baseball Recap: Fort Dale Academy Takes a Loss

Fort Dale Academy has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.06 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chambers Academy Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-1 defeat on Saturday.

Fort Dale Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sandrell Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Williams has posted since back in February. Another was Trip Albert, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Fort Dale Academy and nudges their season record down to 13-3. As for Chambers Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Dale Academy will host Hooper Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Fort Dale Academy is facing Hooper Academy at the right time seeing as Hooper Academy is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Chambers Academy, they will take on Southern Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
