Baseball Recap: Milby Comes Up Short

Milby entered their game against Waltrip on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Buffaloes came up short against the Rams, falling 8-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 back in February.

Milby's loss dropped their record down to 13-5-1. As for Waltrip, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 14-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Milby will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Episcopal at 12:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Waltrip, they will square off against Austin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.74 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
