Basketball Game Preview: Metro Tech Knights vs. North Mustangs

The Metro Tech Knights will take on the North Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Metro Tech: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while North has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Last Thursday, Metro Tech took a blow against Carl Hayden Community, falling 83-20. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Falcons are ranked 78th).

Meanwhile, North suffered their biggest loss since December 13, 2024 on Friday. They were outmatched by Central and fell 70-42. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Metro Tech was dealt a bruising 79-46 loss at the hands of North when the teams last played back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of North's Varney Kamara, who went 8 for 12 en route to 17 points.
