Preview: Liberty County Panthers vs. Beach Bulldogs
Liberty County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Beach Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Friday, Liberty County ended up a good deal behind Long County and lost 36-22.
Despite their loss, Liberty County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ron Golden, who gained 100 total yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 37 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes, was perhaps the best of all. Jaden Hurd was another key contributor, picking up 107 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Beach's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Savannah Christian 55-6. While losing is never fun, Beach can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 410th, while Savannah Christian is ranked 78th).
Liberty County's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Beach, their defeat was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Liberty County against Beach in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 39-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Liberty County since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
