Softball Recap: Ben Holt College Prep Academy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Stagg, Ben Holt College Prep Academy was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Leroy Greene Academy Lions. With that victory, the Bobcats brought their scoring average up to 7.5 runs per game.

Julieann Drulias made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Emma Valli was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Mindy Claypool also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Ben Holt College Prep Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leroy Greene Academy struck out six times.

Ben Holt College Prep Academy's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Leroy Greene Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ben Holt College Prep Academy will welcome Aspire Langston Hughes Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give Ben Holt College Prep Academy their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Leroy Greene Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Foresthill at 4:00 p.m. on April 9.
