Softball Recap: William Penn Comes Up Short

William Penn fell victim to Red Lion and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 21-0 to the Lions. The Bearcats just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

William Penn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keila Vasquez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

William Penn's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Red Lion, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. William Penn will challenge York Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Fighting Irish have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.38 runs per game on average), something the Bearcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Red Lion, they will take on Spring Grove at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
