Softball Game Preview: St. Anthony Village Huskies vs. Visitation Blazers

St. Anthony Village and Visitation are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Huskies will take on the Blazers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Anthony Village has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with 11 straight defeats, while Visitation will come in with eight straight wins.

On Friday, St. Anthony Village came up short against Spring Lake Park and fell 5-1.

Ellie Munson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Visitation). Everything went their way against Richfield on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-9 victory. The result was nothing new for the Blazers, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Visitation's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for St. Anthony Village, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

St. Anthony Village took their victory against Visitation when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
