Flag Football Recap: Standley Lake Comes Up Short

Standley Lake fell victim to Golden and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a blow against the Demons, falling 37-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Demons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-0 last Monday.

Even if they lost, Standley Lake's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Samantha Heath, Lexi Brandon, and Rae Coronado Coronado, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Standley Lake is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. As for Golden, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5.

Standley Lake wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 20-12 defeat against Littleton on the 27th. As for Golden, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 27-7 win against Lakewood on the 27th.
