Softball Game Preview: Sandusky Blue Streaks vs. Norwalk Truckers

Sandusky is 0-3 against Norwalk since April of 2024 but things could change on Friday. The Blue Streaks will welcome the Truckers at 4:45 p.m. Sandusky is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Sandusky's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Mansfield Senior 19-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Streaks.

Kaylee Summers made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Summers was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Sandusky let Amari Prentice and Maijon Wiley run wild. Prentice got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Wiley went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Prentice a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Akiyla Jones, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one double.

Sandusky hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mansfield Senior struck out 11 times.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Norwalk was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of Edison by a score of 2-1. The Truckers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Norwalk's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Sandusky, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
