Recap: Genoa Christian Academy vs. Granville Christian Academy
After flying high against the St. Peter's Spartans on Saturday, Genoa Christian Academy came back down to earth. Genoa Christian Academy fell to Granville Christian Academy 40-36. Genoa Christian Academy lost against Granville Christian Academy in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 49-34 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Genoa Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Jackson Kirura scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for Kirura. Zane Groves was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Genoa Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Granville Christian Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Genoa Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Madison Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Madison Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Granville Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Liberty Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
