Recap: Bethesda Christian Lions vs. Ovilla Christian Eagles
The Bethesda Christian Lions entered their tilt with the Ovilla Christian Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Bethesda Christian blew past Ovilla Christian 64-40. Given Bethesda Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 444th, while Ovilla Christian is ranked 895th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Ovilla Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Blake Day. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with five steals. Day has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Jenkins, who scored four points.
Bethesda Christian's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Ovilla Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethesda Christian will take on Sacred Heart at TBD on Tuesday. As for Ovilla Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harvest Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
