Basketball Recap: Cherryville Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Cherryville played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the North Gaston Wildcats, falling 62-40. The matchup was a 22-22 toss-up at halftime, but the Ironmen couldn't quite close it out.

Jaleila Littlejohn was a one-woman wrecking crew For North Gaston. as she dropped a double-double with 33 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Littlejohn has scored at least a third of the Wildcats' points. Isabella Symonds was another key player, going 6-for-14 en route to 12 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Cherryville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for North Gaston, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Cherryville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-30 loss against Lake Lure Classical Academy on the 21st. As for North Gaston, they will host East Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
