Baseball Recap: Portales Comes Up Short

Portales was the 15-4 winner over Cobre when they last played one another back in April of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Rams fell just short of the Indians by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Portales saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Tellez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Morgan Novak also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Portales' loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Cobre, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Portales wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-2 win against Bosque on the 4th. As for Cobre, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-8 victory against Pecos on the 4th.
