Softball Recap: Bonneville's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

Bonneville dropped their record down to 17-10 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost 16-8 to the Blackfoot Broncos. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bees have suffered since April 23rd.

Gracie Longhurst put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over 5.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.

In other batting news, Alli Sutherland was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Paisley Bowler was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

As for Blackfoot, they pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Considering they have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Blackfoot's side, Shea Staley was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Leah Mecham, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
