Highland had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the Sugar-Salem Diggers 2-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since October 4, 2024.

Kennedi Winder paced Highland's offense, picking up ten kills. Winder got some help from Jaycie Homer and her 12 assists. Brinley Homer controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Highland has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Firth on the 22nd. As for Sugar-Salem, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Malad at 7:00 p.m. on September 4.
