Baseball Game Preview: Perrysburg Yellow Jackets vs. Ottawa Hills Green Bears

The Perrysburg Yellow Jackets will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Ottawa Hills Green Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Perrysburg is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Tinora. The Yellow Jackets put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 9-2 victory on Thursday.

Tyler Palmer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Landon Winters was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Lucas Graham was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Ottawa Hills gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Northwood a 19-0 shutout. The Green Bears haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Perrysburg took their victory against Ottawa Hills when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-3 score. Do the Yellow Jackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Green Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
