Volleyball Recap: Carver Comes Up Short

Carver managed to slip by Rockland the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Crusaders came up short against the Bulldogs on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Carver was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-16.

Maeve Zakrzewski paced Carver's offense, picking up seven kills. Zakrzewski got some help from Riley Jenkins and her nine assists. Finally, Reese Hoekema kept Carver's defense grounded, leading the team with seven blocks.

Carver's defeat dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Rockland, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Carver will head out to take on Middleborough at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockland, they will be playing at home against Cohasset at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
