Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. Buckhorn

The Central Red Devils will be taking part in a tournament against the Buckhorn Bucks at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Buckhorn better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Central really gets things going. Central never let Scottsboro get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Red Devils, who have now won three matchups in a row.

They hit Scottsboro with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Tyelon Davidson (2), Eli Taff, and Myles Walden.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Buckhorn). They put the hurt on Smiths Station with a sharp 4-0 win on Friday. Give the Bucks' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Central pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three contests. As for Buckhorn, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
